Stay motivated throughout the entire year! Keep reading to find out how!

It’s easier to get motivated than to stay motivated. Do you ever find yourself setting goals but never getting around to achieving them?

We can help with this. All you need to do is follow these ten steps and you will be on the path of motivation all year long.

First, set some goals and constantly remind yourself of these goals. Write them down on a white board or even a piece of paper and put them somewhere you will see them every single day.

Second, make weekly checkpoints to visually see your progress and how close you’re getting to achieving your goals. Keeping track will get you excited and push you to keep going and not to give up!

Third, when you make progress or reach a goal, reward yourself! Go out and buy yourself something new or eat your favorite desert.

Fourth, remember to take breaks and give yourself breathing room. It can become tiring and even stressful when you’re constantly on the go getting things done. It’s great that you’re getting things checked off your list, but you also need to remember to slow down every once in a while and relax. Put on your favorite TV show, movie, or take a jog down to the beach. Doing this will actually help you get more done and keep your mental health in order.

Fifth, don’t be so hard on yourself. If you fail to meet your goals in the time you set, use it as a lesson for the next time. Maybe you need to time manage better or maybe you just need to give yourself more time to complete certain goals. Don’t dwell on what you didn’t do and focus on what you’re going to do. Have faith that you’re always going to do and be better.

Sixth, watch and read motivational speeches. This sounds a little silly, but it really helps! Having someone show their passion in full force and if they are a good speaker, their words will get you pumped up and motivate you to the point where you will be craving the need to achieve your goals.

Seventh, eliminate your distractions. Identify anything that is causing you to procrastinate, then get rid of it. Set yourself time limits on what you can browse on the internet, or the amount of time spent watching TV.

Eighth, raise the stakes for yourself. Hold yourself accountable in your eyes and in others. Give yourself penalties for not checking off your tasks in the time you have allotted. For example, buy your favorite cookies and if you don’t complete a task, give them away instead of eating them.

Ninth, get active! Make sure you set aside time to go for a run, walk, or even a yoga class. Light or heavy exercise not only affects us physically but it affects our moods. Even the slightest exercise will help you curve your attitude.

Tenth, if you’re having a mental block with bigger tasks on your list, divide them up into smaller ones. This will not only help you complete the bigger task as a whole, but you will feel better about accomplishing the smaller tasks along the way.

Let us know if these steps are helping you and if not, think about what you can do differently to help yourself stay motivated all year long. You can do it!!

Until Next Time…
