There is something to be said about big hair and it speaks volumes - literally. Beyoncé has given us summer’s most wanted “Texan style” go big or go home hair, with all the gloss and glam that goes with it. The opposite of super sleek, straight looks, chic updos, and bobs of all lengths, bombshell hair is fuller, longer, wavier, and louder. Drawing inspiration from every decade since the 1950’s, there is a version that suits all hair types. The key to voluminous looks in 2024 is height at the crown rather than just at the lower ends, with full-bodied structured curls and controlled waves, often with side parts, and always a glossy finish. Supermodel blowouts have even been revived by the original 80’s big hair queens Julia Roberts and Cindy Crawford, whose daughter Kaia Gerber has given us deja-vu wearing her own supermodel hair looking stunningly like her mother in recent appearances. Of course bombshell styles require much more hair than most of us have naturally, and celebs are adding volume and length with extensions. Additional styling time and effort is key to this high-maintenance, luxurious, and powerful look, so while it may not be the first choice for everyday hair, it’s definitely a glam option we will be doing for all the special occasions when we want to bring the drama:
